About Me
Dr. Hunson Kaz Soong is a professor emeritus of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the University of Michigan Health, specializing in cornea and external diseases. He provides care for a wide range of corneal and conjunctival conditions, including corneal dystrophies, infections, ulcers, tumors, dry eyes, and complications from systemic diseases. Dr. Soong also performs advanced surgical procedures such as high-risk corneal transplants, posterior lamellar keratoplasty, and refractive surgeries like LASIK and PRK.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Soong has a strong interest in international ophthalmology. He has traveled to many countries to provide eye care and has been actively involved in relief efforts in Haiti, including emergency care after the 2010 earthquake. He currently serves as a professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the U-M Health System.
