About Me

Dr. Hui Zhao is a cornea and anterior segment specialist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care with a clear, down-to-earth communication style. Before entering clinical practice, she conducted vision science research at Washington University that explored mechanisms underlying age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Today, she combines that scientific rigor with compassionate care, helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make confident decisions. Dr. Zhao completed her internship in general surgery and ophthalmology residency at Washington University, followed by fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation, University of California, San Francisco.
