Dr. Helen Koenigsman

Dr. Helen Koenigsman is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma care. She offers the latest intraocular lens implant technology for cataract surgery and provides comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical management for all types of glaucoma. For patients with early to moderate glaucoma, she specializes in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), which can often be combined with cataract surgery to optimize vision and care in a single procedure.

Dr. Koenigsman is actively involved in the ophthalmology community, having served on the board of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology. She is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and serves on committees for the American Glaucoma Society. Committed to making eye care accessible, she volunteers with EyeCare America, Operation Sight, and AGS Cares to provide no-cost clinic exams, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery for local patients in need.

With a unique background, Dr. Koenigsman began her career as a software engineer before pursuing her passion for medicine. She dedicated over ten years to additional education and training, earning her medical degree and completing her residency and fellowship. Her commitment to lifelong learning extends beyond medicine, as she enjoys taking language and music classes at the local community college. Outside of work, she plays musical instruments, sings, skis, paddle boards, crafts, and reads, and she travels on humanitarian cataract missions to places like Haiti and Togo, Africa.
