About Me
Dr. Gary Yau is an ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained medical retina specialist with Prism Eye Institute in the Greater Toronto Area. He completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario and ophthalmology residency at Queen’s University, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in medical retina and clinical trial research at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Yau is committed to compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based care, with a particular focus on complex retinal disease and refractive cataract surgery. He has delivered podium presentations at national and international meetings, received multiple research awards, and contributed several chapters to the Handbook of Vitreo-Retinal Disorder Management. In addition to his clinical and academic work, he remains active in community service both locally and abroad, and he speaks both English and Cantonese.
