About Me

Dr. Eyal Walter is a neuro-ophthalmologist and clinical lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. He cares for patients whose vision problems are linked to the brain, optic nerve, or eye-movement pathways, often helping people who have seen multiple specialists finally get clear answers. His training includes medical school at Hadassah Medical Center in Israel and ophthalmology residency at Soroka University Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology at Michigan. Dr. Walter’s clinical interests include evaluation of unexplained vision loss, double vision, visual field changes, and neurologic conditions such as optic neuritis and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. He works closely with neurology and neurosurgery colleagues to coordinate testing and treatment, and he takes time to explain complex diagnoses in a way that feels understandable and reassuring for patients and their families.
