About Me
Dr. Erica Bernfeld is a board-certified cornea specialist and general ophthalmologist dedicated to restoring vision and managing a wide range of eye conditions. She has a particular focus on cataract and corneal surgery, and she values educating her patients about their eye health to create individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Bernfeld completed her ophthalmology residency at the Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center program and then pursued advanced training through a cornea fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. She has also been recognized for her teaching, having received the Golden Apple Teaching Award during her five years of instructing residents.
In her practice, Dr. Bernfeld performs cataract surgery, corneal endothelial transplants, and pterygium surgery, among other anterior segment procedures. She is committed to providing comprehensive eye care and taking the time to understand each patient's unique needs.
