About Me
Dr. Eric George is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at Abington Jefferson Health and specializes in the management of corneal disorders, dry eye, cornea surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma. Dr. George also performs LASIK surgery and has extensive experience with premium intraocular implants for cataract surgery.
Dr. George completed his undergraduate education at Pennsylvania State University and earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease and LASIK surgery at Louisiana State University Eye Center. Since entering private practice in 1998, he has successfully performed thousands of cataract, cornea, and glaucoma surgeries.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. George is involved in the education and training of resident physicians at Abington Memorial Hospital and has lectured on innovations in eye care. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
