Dr. Devang Bhoiwala

Devang L. Bhoiwala, MD, is a fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma surgeon who provides comprehensive care in English and Gujarati. He specializes in premium cataract surgery that can address astigmatism and presbyopia, as well as the full spectrum of modern glaucoma treatments—medical therapy, in-office laser, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and traditional operations when appropriate. His goal is to pair the right technology with clear communication so patients feel confident at every step.

Dr. Bhoiwala completed ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical Center and advanced glaucoma fellowship training at Tufts University – New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He also completed a Research to Prevent Blindness fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania, and earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College after graduating cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as part of a 7-year accelerated BS/MD program. He is active in professional societies and is committed to patient education and quality outcomes.
