Dr. Demetrian Dornic

Dr. Dean Dornic is a board-certified ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon with a unique background that includes both a doctor of medicine and a doctor of optometry degree. His training in ophthalmology was completed at University Hospitals in Cleveland, followed by a fellowship in refractive surgery at the Sinskey Eye Institute in Santa Monica, California. Since bringing his expertise to North Carolina in 1998, Dr. Dornic has performed thousands of vision correction procedures at his Cary practice.

Dr. Dornic offers a wide range of surgical and non-surgical treatments for ocular conditions, with a particular emphasis on refractive surgery. He was the first ophthalmologist in the Raleigh/Durham area to perform IntraLase, a laser-based advancement in LASIK, and also provides LASEK, PRK, Intacs, LTK, CK, and implantable contact lenses. For patients with cataracts, he offers both traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery, as well as refractive lens exchange.

Recognized by his peers as a leader in the field, Dr. Dornic has been named one of America's Top Ophthalmologists and a Top 50 LASIK Eye Surgeon. He is a reviewer for leading ophthalmology journals and has lectured internationally. He maintains active hospital privileges at Rex Health Care Center, WakeMed Cary Hospital, and Johnston Memorial Hospital.
