Dr. Dean Hu

Dr. Hu is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on cornea, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh before moving to Hawaii to join the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. Dr. Hu currently serves as chief of ophthalmology for the medical group and as medical director of the Honolulu Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Dr. Hu believes in tailoring his approach to each patient, providing efficient medical and surgical treatment in a caring and supportive manner. He values the long-lasting physician-patient relationships that ophthalmology allows and enjoys performing state-of-the-art surgery to improve patients' vision and quality of life. His practice includes treatment of conditions affecting the cornea and external eye, as well as laser vision correction.
