About Me
Dr. Hemmings grew up in a medical family in Lexington, Kentucky, which influenced his interest in medicine. He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree in Medical Arts and then the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed a transitional internship at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hemmings is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a past president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Hemmings provides comprehensive eye care at his Douglasville office, performing surgery at the Georgia Cataract and Eye Specialty Center in Carrollton. He treats a range of conditions including cataracts, retinal detachment, and diabetic eye disease, and has extensive experience with cataract surgery, laser surgery, and intraocular lens implantation. He has been in private practice in Douglasville since 2000.
