Dr. David Steven Greenfield is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He serves as a Professor of Ophthalmology and holds the Douglas R. Anderson Chair in Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Health System, where he also acts as Vice Chair for Academic Affairs. His clinical practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adults with glaucoma, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and surgical techniques.
Dr. Greenfield completed his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and his residency in ophthalmology at Tufts-New England Medical Center. He then pursued two fellowships at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, one in glaucoma and another in neuro-ophthalmology, which allows him to manage complex cases involving the optic nerve. His research focuses on computerized optic nerve imaging and improving glaucoma diagnosis, monitoring, and surgical outcomes.
