About Me
Dr. David H. Haight was a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in corneal and refractive surgery. He established a private practice in New York City focused on advanced surgical techniques for vision correction, including LASIK, PRK, and custom laser treatments. Dr. Haight also provided care for cataracts, myopia, corneal transplants, and contact lens fitting.
Trained at Brown University and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Haight completed his ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and pursued specialized training in corneal and anterior segment surgery. He was a pioneer in refractive surgery, having studied with Dr. Jose Barraquer in Colombia and performed research that contributed to FDA approval of the excimer laser. Throughout his career, Dr. Haight held academic appointments at Columbia University, Weill Cornell Medical College, and NYU Langone School of Medicine, and served on the Medical Advisory Board of the New York Eye Bank for Sight Restoration.
Dr. Haight was dedicated to advancing the field of refractive surgery through research, teaching, and clinical innovation. His work helped shape modern LASIK techniques and improved outcomes for patients with corneal conditions.
