Dr. David Metrikin

Dr. David C. Metrikin is a retina specialist at Southwest Retina Consultants in El Paso, treating a range of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous. He focuses on the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment.

Dr. Metrikin earned his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He completed an internship at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He then received specialized training through a fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Metrikin has been recognized by his peers, earning a place on the Best Doctors in America list since 2005 and membership in the Global Directory of Who’s Who since 2014.
