About Me
Dr. David B. Petersen is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist at Rocky Mountain Eye Care in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has extensive surgical experience in eye alignment correction for both children and adults, performing over 250 surgeries per year since joining the practice in 2003. His clinical expertise focuses on pediatric eye care and adult strabismus, including conditions such as double vision and eye misalignment.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Petersen has been an active researcher for over a decade, contributing to clinical trials through the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), where he also served as Vice-Chair. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and has held leadership roles including president of the Utah Ophthalmology Society.
