About Me
Dr. Daniel J. Olson is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina–vitreous subspecialist who provides comprehensive eye care and advanced treatment for diseases of the retina and vitreous. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as chief resident. He then pursued a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Olson offers patient-centered care focused on the medical and surgical management of retinal disease, including in-office laser procedures and intravitreal injections when appropriate. He partners closely with patients to explain diagnoses, discuss options in plain language, and tailor care plans to protect and preserve vision. In August 2023 he joined Morganton Eye Physicians, where he brings a careful, compassionate approach to people across Western North Carolina. His goal is to deliver thoughtful guidance and excellent outcomes so patients feel confident at every step of their care.
