About Me
Dr. D. Chimene Richa is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastics. She focuses on conditions affecting the tissues surrounding the eyes, including the eyelids, tear drainage system, and eye socket. In her practice, she treats a variety of eyelid problems such as droopy eyelids (ptosis), excess eyelid skin (dermatochalasis), eyelid turning in or out (entropion/ectropion), tearing issues, eyelid tumors, thyroid eye disease, and orbital disorders.
Dr. Richa completed her undergraduate studies at Villanova University and earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She further trained with an internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital. She has been on the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2012, serving as an adjunct assistant professor and director of medical student education in ophthalmology.
