About Me

Dr. Cristina Bostan completed a combined Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science program at the Université de Montréal, followed by an ophthalmology residency within the Clinician-Scientist Training Program. She served as Chief Resident and was named to the Dean’s List upon graduation. She then pursued a year of advanced clinical and surgical fellowship training in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute.

During her time there, she gained expertise in managing the full spectrum of corneal diseases, ocular surface surgeries, corneal transplants, complex cataract and anterior segment surgeries, and laser procedures such as corneal collagen cross-linking, phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK), LASIK, PRK, and SMILE. Dr. Bostan also completed an additional year of research training in corneal diseases and is currently finalizing a Master’s in Translational Research at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Bostan is now a specialist in Cornea, External Diseases, Cataract/Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at the Université de Montréal University Ophthalmology Center (Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont) and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Université de Montréal. In this role, she supervises medical students, ophthalmology residents, and cornea fellows. She is also actively involved in research, with the primary goal of accelerating the pace at which emerging therapies reach her patients. Her research work has received numerous awards and grants and has been featured in over 100 publications and presentations. In her clinical work, Dr. Bostan prioritizes partnership with her patients and their satisfaction above all else, aiming to provide the highest quality of care to every individual.
