About Me
Dr. Claudia Perez Straziota is a specialist in cornea and external diseases, with extensive training and experience in advanced eye care. She completed her medical education at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and later moved to the United States, where she undertook ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Emory University. Her early career included providing essential eye care in rural and medically underserved communities, followed by specialized work at leading cornea practices in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, where she contributed to research on corneal cross-linking for keratoconus.
Since joining the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in 2019, Dr. Perez Straziota focuses on subspecialized cornea care, premium cataract surgery, and corneal transplants. She is an active member of professional societies such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and she shares her expertise through teaching young surgeons and authoring book chapters on topics like endothelial keratoplasty. Her commitment to advancing eye surgical techniques makes her a valuable resource for patients with complex corneal and cataract conditions.
