Dr. Carlos Buznego

Dr. Carlos Buznego is a board-certified ophthalmologist serving the Miami community with advanced surgical care for vision correction, cataracts, and glaucoma. Born in Havana and raised in Miami, he completed his ophthalmology training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Buznego specializes in LASIK, laser cataract surgery, and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), offering patients the latest techniques in refractive and lens-based procedures.

He is an active staff member at Baptist Hospital and a voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. Buznego is at the forefront of surgical innovation, having been among the first surgeons in the nation certified to perform MIGS with the i-Stent device and laser-assisted cataract surgery. His clinical research focuses on improving outcomes for laser cataract surgery, LASIK, dry eye, and glaucoma implants, and he has served as a principal investigator for FDA trials.
