About Me
Dr. Candy K. Chan is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who provides medical, laser, and surgical treatments for conditions of the retina and vitreous. She grew up in Southern California and is now excited to bring her expertise back to the region, offering comprehensive retina eye care to patients.
Dr. Chan completed a vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Her combined MD/PhD training at the USC Keck School of Medicine involved research on anti-VEGF treatments for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She completed a general surgery internship at the University of California, San Francisco and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester. Her educational foundation includes a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in molecular microbiology and immunology from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, as volunteer faculty at the USC Keck School of Medicine Roski Eye Institute, she participates in educating residents and fellows.
Dr. Chan's professional life is rooted in a strong commitment to family, and she pledges to provide the best individualized treatment for each patient to help them reach their highest visual potential, recognizing sight as a valuable gift integral to personal achievement.
