Dr. Barry Maltzman

Dr. Barry Maltzman is an ophthalmologist at Jersey City Medical Center, where he has served as Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department since 1974. He was a pioneer in intraocular lens implant surgery for the treatment of cataracts. The department offers state-of-the-art surgical and laser techniques for a broad range of eye conditions.

Dr. Maltzman has been involved with the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Ophthalmology Residency program since 1971 and has mentored over 240 residents. He is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and St. George’s University School of Medicine. He has designed ophthalmic surgical instruments and contributed to numerous medical research articles and publications.
