About Me
Barbara J. Arnold, MD, is an experienced ophthalmologist in Sacramento, California, who integrates her passion for art into her approach to eye care. She believes that vision involves a deep connection between the eye and the brain, which enhances the compassion and understanding she brings to her patients.
Dr. Arnold completed her medical education at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, followed by an internship at the University of New Mexico and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Colorado. She further specialized with a fellowship in retinal diseases at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. After her training, she established her own practice in Sacramento to serve the community.
In her practice, she offers comprehensive eye care services including pre-operative evaluation for cataract surgery, management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, as well as advanced options like custom lens implants and laser treatments. Beyond clinical work, Dr. Arnold is actively involved in professional organizations as a voting member of the AMA and CMA House of Delegates and contributes as a volunteer professor at UC Davis School of Medicine.
