About Me
Dr. Annie Chan is a native Austinite and a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in cornea, cataract, refractive, and external diseases. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Stanford University and earned her medical degree from UT Health San Antonio. Her training includes a rigorous ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and external diseases at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. She previously served as Assistant Professor and Director of Corneal and Refractive Services at UT Health San Antonio before returning to Austin to serve her hometown community.
Dr. Chan is a leading surgeon in cataract surgery, offering the latest presbyopic correcting lens options. She has a special interest in treating dry eyes and keratoconus, with experience in corneal collagen crosslinking and advanced corneal transplantation techniques like DMEK and ultra-thin DSAEK. She is dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate care to her patients.
She is passionate about community service, having volunteered with Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps, iCare San Antonio, and international missions with SEE International. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, she is active in her church and enjoys hiking, photography, traveling, and exploring Austin.
