About Me
Anna Djougarian, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as routine and complex cataract surgery. She brings a dedicated approach to eye care, focusing on both common and challenging conditions to help patients maintain and improve their vision.
Dr. Djougarian completed her medical education at New York Medical College, graduating in 2013, after earning her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Macaulay Honors College. She further honed her skills through an internship in Internal Medicine, followed by a rigorous ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health, where she served as chief resident. To deepen her expertise, she pursued subspecialty training in medical and surgical glaucoma at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Djougarian is actively involved in research, having presented her work at major conferences such as the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She has a passion for global medicine, having traveled to remote areas in Peru to provide eye care and perform cataract surgery. Additionally, she contributes to resident education as a clinical and surgical attending for the Northwell residency program and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
