Dr. Ann Shue

Dr. Mona Fayad is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist who cares for children and adults with eye-alignment and vision-development concerns. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and sees patients within UCLA Health’s pediatric ophthalmology program. Dr. Fayad completed ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai after a preliminary year in internal medicine at Mount Sinai West/St. Luke’s, and earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Families choose Dr. Fayad for a calm, child-friendly approach paired with the depth of resources at UCLA Health. She treats conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus, nystagmus, blocked tear ducts, droopy eyelids, pediatric cataracts, and congenital or pediatric glaucoma. She is experienced with adjustable-suture techniques for complex strabismus and provides thoughtful second opinions for challenging cases. Dr. Gore earned her medical degree at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at the Shiley Eye Institute, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She speaks Mandarin and is active in research aimed at better understanding nystagmus and improving treatments for strabismus. Dr. Gore listens carefully, explains options in plain language, and partners with families to create care plans that support healthy vision at every stage of development.

Dr. Tiffany A. Chen is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for babies, children and teens with a wide range of visual and ocular conditions. She has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating refractive errors that cause blurry vision, strabismus (eye misalignment) and amblyopia (lazy eye). Dr. Chen partners closely with families and other pediatric specialists to support healthy visual development and provide clear, compassionate guidance at every step. Her goal is individualized, kid-friendly care that helps each child see—and thrive—at their best. Dr. Chen’s academic interests include studying outcomes in pediatric eye disorders and improving both patient care and resident surgical education through thoughtful initiatives. She earned her MD at Stanford University, completed ophthalmology residency at UCSF, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is an active member of national ophthalmic societies and is committed to delivering evidence-based care in a welcoming, family-centered environment.
