Dr. Andrew Velazquez

Dr. Andrew Velazquez is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Alabama Vision Center, where he serves patients in the Birmingham area. His clinical expertise includes LASIK vision correction, cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, IOL surgery, and corneal transplantation.

Dr. Velazquez has held the positions of Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Director of Cornea and External Disease, and Director of Refractive Surgery at The Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and serves as a Clinical Assistant at the Eye Hospital.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Velazquez and his wife are raising two daughters. He is an avid triathlete and enjoys swimming, cooking, golfing, and biking.
