About Me
Dr. Andrew Chung is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical eye care through Kauai Eye Institute. He combines careful evaluation with clear, practical guidance so patients understand their diagnosis and feel confident about the next steps.
His work includes cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens options, including the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). He also helps patients manage glaucoma, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) options when appropriate, and treats conditions such as pterygium (“surfer’s eye”). In addition, the practice offers Valeda photobiomodulation therapy for dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Dr. Chung earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Oakwood University, then completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He is also board-certified in lifestyle medicine, and he enjoys time with his family, basketball, hiking, and plant-based cooking.
