About Me
Dr. Hutchinson is a pediatric ophthalmologist at Emory Eye Center, where she serves as Interim Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and a Professor. She joined Emory in 2002 and has been practicing since 1995. Her clinical practice focuses on general pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
Dr. Hutchinson has special interests in retinopathy of prematurity screening and treatment, pediatric vision screening, and cerebral visual impairment. She co-developed and validated the Handy Eye Chart™ for children, designed for use in non-verbal or non-English speaking individuals. She recently introduced a specialty clinic for children with cerebral visual impairment. Dr. Hutchinson also participates in National Eye Institute-funded studies applying evidence-based medicine to the treatment of amblyopia and other pediatric eye diseases.
