Meet Dr. Allen Eghrari

About Me

Dr. Allen Eghrari is a cornea specialist at the Wilmer Eye Institute and serves as director of the Dana Center for Preventive Ophthalmology. He treats cornea, cataract, and external eye diseases, helping patients address problems that affect clarity, comfort, and overall visual function. His clinical interests include Fuchs’ corneal dystrophy, cataract surgery, and corneal transplantation, including Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK). He also has experience caring for patients with Ebola-associated eye disease. Dr. Eghrari focuses on clear communication and shared decision-making so patients understand their options and what recovery may look like. He earned his M.D. and M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins University and completed ophthalmology residency training and a cornea and cataract surgery fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
