About Me

Alexander Snyder, MD, is a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon at Raleigh Eye Center. As a fellowship-trained cornea specialist, he performs full- and partial-thickness corneal transplants, manages complex corneal disease, and treats keratoconus and corneal dystrophies. He also offers LASIK and PRK for refractive error and performs routine and complex cataract surgery, including cases requiring secondary intraocular lens placement. Dr. Snyder earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia, and went on to a Cornea and External Disease fellowship at Duke University, where he also served as Chief Resident. He enjoys partnering with patients through clear explanations, thoughtful counseling on options, and meticulous surgical technique aimed at restoring comfort and vision.
