About Me
Dr. Alex Kartvelishvili is a board-certified and fellowship-trained retina specialist at Wolfe Eye Clinic, where he has been seeing patients since 2015. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex retina conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachments. Dr. Kartvelishvili is dedicated to helping his patients maintain or improve their vision through advanced surgical and medical retina care.
Dr. Kartvelishvili completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Valley Retina Institute in Texas after finishing his ophthalmology residency and internship at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Kartvelishvili regularly participates in research and has published articles and presented lectures on topics such as macular degeneration, retinal imaging, and diabetic retinopathy.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kartvelishvili enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and physical exercise.
