About Me
Justin Grassmeyer, MD, PhD, is a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow at the University of Iowa's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and vitreous disorders, providing advanced surgical care for conditions affecting the back of the eye. His expertise is supported by extensive research in ophthalmic genetics and retinal neurobiology.
Dr. Grassmeyer has authored numerous publications on topics such as Bardet-Biedl syndrome, trisomy 13, and choroidal neovascularization. He has received awards including the Casey Eye Institute Residency Best Paper Award and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
