About Me
Dr. Alex Manguikian is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care at Fairfax Eye Associates, where he joined in July 2013. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, and eyelid plastic surgery, offering surgical and medical treatments for a range of eye conditions to restore and preserve vision.
Dr. Manguikian completed his medical education with a Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University School of Medicine, following a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. His training includes a medical internship at Georgetown University Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital, and an ophthalmology residency at the Flaum Eye Institute of the University of Rochester.
He has been recognized for his academic excellence with awards such as the John C. Forbes Award and Sidney S. Negus Award for Excellence in Biochemistry. Dr. Manguikian is an active member of professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and he contributes to the field through presentations at scientific seminars.
