About Me
Dr. Lama Khatib is a board-certified ophthalmologist with dual training in pediatric ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery, offering over 15 years of clinical experience since 2008. She recently joined Inova in 2025, where she delivers expert eye care to patients of all ages, from children to adults.
Her background includes an academic role as an assistant professor at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she honed her skills in teaching and complex case management. This experience enriches her patient-centered approach at Inova.
Dr. Khatib's clinical focus encompasses pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, oculoplastic and orbital surgery, lacrimal and tearing disorders, ptosis or droopy eyelids, eyelid and ocular surface tumors, orbital tumors, vascular malformations and birthmarks, hyperthyroidism or Graves' disease, and microphthalmia or underdeveloped eyes. She is particularly skilled in managing diseases that simultaneously affect eye alignment and eyelid function, such as craniosynostosis syndromes and thyroid eye disease, providing integrated care for these challenging conditions.
