About Me
Dr. Akhila N. Alapati is a uveitis and comprehensive ophthalmology specialist who cares for patients of all ages. She focuses on diagnosing and treating ocular inflammation with a careful, stepwise approach that prioritizes vision preservation and comfort. Patients appreciate her clear explanations and collaborative style, whether they’re navigating a new diagnosis of uveitis or coming in for routine eye care.
At The University of Kansas Health System Eye Center, Dr. Alapati partners with a multidisciplinary team so patients can access advanced imaging, medical therapies and surgery when needed. After medical school at Oakland University William Beaumont, she completed internship at Henry Ford, ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas, and a fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She welcomes conversations about treatment options—from drop-based regimens to systemic therapies—and works with each person to tailor a plan that fits their goals and lifestyle.
