About Me
Dr. Adam Hanif is a vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for patients with medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He is known for a meticulous, collaborative approach—taking time to explain diagnoses, outline options, and tailor treatment plans that fit each person’s vision goals. Dr. Hanif has a special interest in age-related macular degeneration and participates in clinical research to bring evidence-based therapies to his patients. He also manages complex retinal detachments, macular disorders, lens-related complications, and retinal trauma with advanced surgical techniques.
Dr. Hanif studied chemistry at Emory University before earning his medical degree there. He completed both ophthalmology residency and a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University. Along the way he received the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship, a recognition of promise in academic ophthalmology. Outside the clinic and operating room, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family, biking and hiking whenever the weather allows.
