Dr. Adam Flug

Adam J. Flug, MD is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist. He specializes in small-incision cataract surgery, screening and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Flug provides care for both adult and pediatric patients.

In 2009, he founded the Ophthalmology department of ProHEALTH Care Associates, now part of Optum, where he serves as Vice Chairman. He is actively involved in training ophthalmology residents at Northwell Health and frequently lectures on ophthalmic topics. Dr. Flug also serves as an ophthalmology consultant to the New York Islanders. He has published clinical research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings. He holds a clinical assistant professor appointment at Hofstra University and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmology Society.
