About Me
Dr. Abtin Shahlaee is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at UCSF and pursued a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Shahlaee has served as a co-investigator in numerous clinical trials and research initiatives, with academic contributions including over sixty peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, presentations, and abstracts.
His clinical and surgical expertise covers a wide range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, macular hole, macular pucker, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, complications of cataract surgery, and secondary intraocular lens placement. As a vitreoretinal surgeon, he is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care with compassion and precision.
Dr. Shahlaee is accepting new patients by referral only and speaks both English and Farsi. He understands how vital vision is to independence and quality of life, striving to help each patient preserve and restore their sight with empathy and dedication.
