Dr. Yuxi Zheng

Dr. Yuxi Zheng is an ophthalmologist training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Duke Eye Center, where she cares for patients with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears, and complex detachments. She is known for a thorough, team-based approach that combines detailed imaging, evidence-driven treatments, and careful counseling so patients understand what to expect before, during, and after therapy.

At Duke, Dr. Zheng has served in leadership and education roles and was selected as co-chair of the American Society of Retina Specialists Fellows-in-Training Section. Her academic interests span pediatric and adult retina, with work recognized through competitive grants and presentations at major ophthalmology meetings. Prior to retina fellowship, she completed ophthalmology residency at Duke, developing broad experience in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Zheng is committed to advancing sight-saving care while providing compassionate support to patients and families facing urgent or chronic retinal disease.
