Dr. Vikas Khetan

Dr. Vikas Khetan is a vitreoretinal surgeon and ocular oncologist at UR Medicine’s Flaum Eye Institute. He leads care for tumors in and around the eye, with special expertise in intraocular tumors and retinoblastoma, and also treats the full spectrum of adult and pediatric retinal disease. Working within an academic team, he helps patients navigate complex diagnoses with clear explanations and a steady, step-by-step plan.

Dr. Khetan trained broadly in India and North America. He completed an MBBS at JSS Medical College, a residency in ophthalmology at Kasturba Medical College, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya. He then pursued fellowships in ocular oncology at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Kids and in ocular genetics at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. At Flaum Eye Institute, he collaborates closely with the ocular genetics group and serves as a primary surgeon for gene-therapy procedures.
