About Me
Dr. Tricia Fernandez is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children from infancy through adolescence, providing gentle, family-centered care for both routine and complex eye conditions. She takes time to connect with young patients and their caregivers, explains findings in plain language, and offers treatment plans that fit a child’s needs—whether glasses, patching and vision therapy, or surgery for strabismus and cataracts. Her goal is to make each visit comfortable and collaborative so families feel confident about next steps.
Dr. Fernandez completed medical school at Wayne State University, ophthalmology residency at Indiana University, and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. She treats a full range of pediatric eye problems and works closely with primary care and NICU teams when needed, including for retinopathy of prematurity. Families value her clear communication, surgical expertise, and steady support from the first visit through follow-up.
