Dr. Trent Richards

Dr. Trent Richards is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care at the Tanner Clinic Eye Center in Layton. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions using the latest techniques and equipment, with a particular focus on macular degeneration, cataract surgery, and refractive procedures.

Dr. Richards completed his medical education at Ohio State University and his residency at the renowned John A. Moran Eye Center, where he served as chief resident. He is deeply committed to community outreach, regularly participating in free cataract surgery events for local residents and providing eye care services to the Navajo Nation. He has also volunteered his skills on mission trips to Nepal and Cambodia.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Richards is a native of Salt Lake City and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to communicate effectively with a broader range of patients.
