About Me
Timothy D. Holley, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with Richmond Eye Associates who specializes in small incision cataract surgery with lens implants and laser treatment for eye disease. He diagnoses and manages glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease, with a particular interest in using cataract surgery to improve vision and reduce patients’ reliance on glasses. Dr. Holley primarily sees patients at the Mechanicsville office.
Dr. Holley completed his ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he served as chief resident and was recognized as resident of the year. He then returned to Central Virginia after earning his medical degree from Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami and his undergraduate degree in computer engineering from the University of Central Florida. His background in engineering informs his thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to surgical planning and patient care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Holley enjoys spending time with his wife and children, is active in his local church, and likes being outdoors, playing the piano, and tackling new and complex board games. He strives to build long-term relationships with his patients and to make every visit clear, comfortable, and reassuring.
