About Me
Dr. Timmy A. Kovoor is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. Born and raised in Texas, he graduated as valedictorian from Houston’s Eisenhower High School. Dr. Kovoor earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University, and received his medical doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency. He further advanced his training with a fellowship in Corneal Disorders, External Ocular Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.
Dr. Kovoor is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society. He has published multiple research articles and presented his work at the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Meeting. Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and two daughters.
His clinical expertise encompasses comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery, LASIK and refractive surgery, corneal disorders and transplantation, and the treatment of retinal conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Kovoor is fluent in Spanish and provides care at the Katy and Memorial City locations.
