About Me
Dr. Hwang specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases and vitreoretinal disorders. He provides care for a range of conditions including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal neovascularization. His practice utilizes advanced diagnostic imaging techniques such as optical coherence tomography angiography to precisely evaluate retinal and choroidal pathology.
Beyond clinical care, Dr. Hwang is dedicated to ophthalmic education and clinical informatics. He has held leadership roles as director of the vitreoretinal fellowship and ophthalmology residency program at the Casey Eye Institute, and he is board-certified in clinical informatics. His research contributions include NIH-supported investigations into imaging biomarkers for diabetic retinopathy and the clinical application of optical coherence tomography angiography.
