About Me
Dr. Thomas P. Ward is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous. He provides consultation and treatment for a range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vascular disorders.
Dr. Ward completed his residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in ophthalmic pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been recognized with the Order of Military Medical Merit and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ward is on the active medical staff at Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
