Dr. Alexander Gaudio

Dr. Alexander R. Gaudio was Connecticut's first retina-trained subspecialist. He began his private consultative practice in Hartford in 1971 and later co-founded Eye Disease Consultants, LLC, in 2003. Dr. Gaudio is an expert in degenerative retinal and vitreo-retinal diseases. He has lectured extensively on these conditions in the US, Europe, and Asia.

Dr. Gaudio completed his fellowship in retina and vitreous at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the same institution. He earned his medical degree from Yale Medical School and holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School.
