Meet Dr. Steven Howard Tucker

Dr. Steven H. Tucker is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Virginia Eye Institute who provides medical and surgical eye care for adults in the Richmond area. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He cares for patients with cataracts, refractive errors such as astigmatism, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and other common eye conditions, emphasizing education so people understand their diagnosis and options. Dr. Tucker completed a Bachelor of Science at Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College, graduating summa cum laude and serving as College Marshal for the Eberly College of Science. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Penn State College of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, and then completed an internship and residency training at the Emory Eye Center in Atlanta. He has published and presented nationally on topics in cataract and refractive surgery. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, running, biking, tennis, music, and community involvement.
