About Me
Dr. Siva Iyer is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who returned to his alma mater, the University of Florida College of Medicine, in 2016. A native Floridian, he completed his medical training at several major academic institutions and previously served on the faculty at The University of Mississippi. His subspecialty is Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery, and he focuses on complex retinal conditions.
Dr. Iyer has particular expertise in diabetic eye disease, including advanced diabetic retinopathy and complex diabetic tractional retinal detachment repair. He also specializes in repairing retinal detachments related to severe eye trauma. His clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, eye emergencies, and retinal detachment. Dr. Iyer sees young adult and adult patients for a range of vitreoretinal disorders.
